Jab Gym is founded by a group of innovators, dreamers and game changers who are passionate about making an impact and challenging the status quo of the fitness industry. We are genuinely different in the way how we conduct ourselves. We balance our approach to fitness by honouring the mind, body and soul.

FITNESS APPROACH

We seek to inspire our community through our offerings and unequivocally believe fitness is not just about going to the gym. It is about being disciplined and having a purpose. Fitness is not a goal, a sprint to the finish line nor a destination to reach. It is not just for today nor a way of life. It is a way to live.

DESIGN PHILOSOPHY

We elaborate our approach to architecture and design that is respectful of our Bruneian community, culture and history whilst embracing innovation and function. We choose to weave and immerse ourselves into the revitalised abandoned landscape at Pavo Point in hope of fostering change and curating a community of like-minded individuals by developing new relationships within our locality.

LEADERSHIP AT JAB

At Jab Gym, we foster a unique leadership capability learning program. We pride ourselves on providing our team members with a learning journey that starts on their very first day. We hope to elevate their Jab Experience and accelerate their careers through learning programs that develop their leadership capabilities.

Level 1: Self-Leadership

Self-leadership is the first stage in leadership skills development. Our team are encouraged to be Self-leaders by enabling them to make decisions on their own and influence themselves to work effectively and independently with minimal supervision and instructions. Self-leadership is of great importance because it allows individuals to take ownership and accountability for their own growth and development.

Level 2: Team-Leadership

Team-leadership is the second stage in leadership skills development. In addition to self-leadership skills, our team are often involved in projects that allow them to guide, instruct and direct a group of individuals for the purpose of achieving aligned company goals. These project leaders also monitor and report the quantitative and qualitative achievements and performance of the team. Team leadership is of great importance because it allows individuals to develop soft skills and coaching skills needed for management roles. The Project leader will learn how to put aside their ego and prioritise their team.

Level 3: Operational-Leadership

Operational-leadership is the third stage in leadership skills development. In addition to team leadership skills, operational leaders are taught how to identify various separate elements in the daily business operations and work to create a larger outcome. Operational leaders are problem solvers who think about issues, review systems and processes to continually improve and streamline the business for efficiency and commercial success. Operational leadership is of great importance because it allows individuals to develop the ability to create infrastructures that stabilise the business and influencing others to achieved company goals.

Level 4: Transformational Leadership

Transformational leadership is the fourth stage of leadership skills development. In additional to operation leadership skills, transformational leaders are coached to manage multiple teams from various functions to identify needed change and inspire change by executing the change in tandem with committed team members. Transformational leaders are change innovators who link organisational values to employee values. Transformational leadership is of great importance because it allows individuals to adapt and develop the ability to inspire change in employees and ensuring employees feel connected to the organisation and improve employee retention whilst ensuring company growth.

Level 5: Strategic Leadership

Strategic leadership is the fifth stage in leadership development. In addition to transformational leadership skills, Strategic leaders drive the vision and direction of organisation growth by motivating, influencing and empowering both internal and external stakeholders to make their own independent decisions. Strategic leaders enhance the prospects for the organization’s long-term success while maintaining short-term financial stability by incorporating both analytical elements and human dimensions. Strategic leadership is of great importance because it allows individuals to anticipate and mitigate both macro and mircoecconomic factors and create sustainable business growth by balancing short term financial goals and curating long term continuity through maintaining business relevance.

Level 6: Entrepreneurial Leadership

Entrepreneurial Leadership is the sixth stage in leadership skills development. In addition to strategic leadership skills, Entrepreneurial leaders are risk takers who are willing to innovate and optimise risks to manage an unchartered dynamic business climate. Entrepreneurial leaders create value propositions for the organisation by proactively contextualising ambiguity and providing clarity and coherence. Entrepreneurial leadership is of great importance because it allows individuals to cultivate the determination to give the project momentum, convert employees to believers and turn the visionary’s big idea into a reality.
